AI search for Seattle law firms

Seattle law firms compete for AI answers across King County, which the state lists with 39 cities and towns, from Bellevue and Redmond to Kent and Federal Way. King County Superior Court runs two full-service courthouses: the King County Courthouse in Seattle serves north and east King County, and the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent serves south King County. A page that names the right one for the reader is a better source than one that assumes everyone goes downtown.

Seattle, Washington

The state-level rules are in the Washington guide, which covers RPC 7.1 and nonintervention probate. This page covers what is different about Seattle: a county of many cities, two main courthouses, and several court levels in one building.

King County is the search area

Washington's Office of Financial Management lists 39 incorporated cities and towns in King County as of April 1, 2026, including Seattle, Bellevue, Kent, Renton, Federal Way, Kirkland, Redmond, Auburn, Sammamish, Shoreline, Burien, and Issaquah. Several, including Auburn and Bothell, are listed as only partly in King County, so a reader in those cities may be dealing with another county's courts.

That does not mean a page for every city. A city page earns its place when it has something distinct to say, such as a different courthouse. Otherwise one strong King County page that names the cities you serve does more than a stack of near-copies.

Getting the court facts right

King County lists the King County Courthouse at 516 Third Avenue in Seattle as a full-service court facility serving north and east King County. The Maleng Regional Justice Center at 401 Fourth Avenue North in Kent is the full-service facility serving south King County. Juvenile Court sits at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center in Seattle.

The Seattle courthouse also houses King County District Court and Seattle Municipal Court, so a criminal defense page should say which court level a charge is likely to land in rather than "the Seattle courthouse." King County District Court also notes that it is preparing for cases to transition to Auburn Municipal Court in 2027, the kind of change a local page has to track.

What differs from a statewide page

Nonintervention probate under RCW 11.68 is statewide, but where a King County hearing happens is local. The court's contact page lists separate Downtown Seattle and Kent lines for criminal, civil, and family matters, and shows some civil services, such as mandatory arbitration, as not offered in Kent. A south King County reader and a Seattle reader may be headed to different buildings for the same type of case.

We verify court names and locations against the court's own pages before they go on yours.

What we build for Seattle firms

  • Practice-area pages that name the right King County courthouse and court level
  • A King County page set covering the cities you serve, split only where the content differs
  • Answer posts for the local questions clients ask before they call

Common questions

Should a Seattle firm write separate pages for Kent or Bellevue?

Only if the page has something distinct to say. A south King County page can name the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, which King County says serves that part of the county. A city page with nothing but a swapped name adds little.

Does it matter that my office is in Bellevue rather than Seattle?

Your pages should say where you are and where you take clients. Being accurate about your location and the courthouse your clients use matters more than matching the biggest city name.
