This guide builds on the Indiana guide, which covers Rules 7.1 to 7.4 and where Indiana lawyers should look for AI guidance. Here the focus is Marion County: one main court address, a township layer for small claims, and the details a page has to get right.
One county, one main court address
The Indiana courts' directory lists these Marion County offices at 675 Justice Way, Indianapolis, IN 46203: the Clerk's Office, the Circuit Court, the Superior Court Civil Division, the Superior Court Criminal Division, and the Family Law Division. The directory lists no Marion County court titled probate, so an estate page should not invent one.
That makes the court question simpler here than in many markets. The harder question is which division, and a page that says "Marion Superior Court, Family Law Division" for a custody matter is more useful than one that says "the courthouse."
Small claims runs by township
The directory lists nine township small claims courts in Marion County, each at its own address:
| Township | Address |
|---|---|
| Center | 300 E. Fall Creek Parkway N. Drive |
| Decatur | 3730 South Foltz St. |
| Franklin | 4531 Independence Square |
| Lawrence | 4455 McCoy St. |
| Perry | 4925 S. Shelby St., #100 |
| Pike | 5665 Lafayette Rd., Suite B |
| Warren | 501 N. Post Rd., Suite C |
| Washington | 5302 N. Keystone Ave., Suite E |
| Wayne | 5401 W. Washington St. |
It also lists a City Court of Beech Grove at 340 E. Churchman Avenue. A landlord, debt, or minor-claims page that sends every reader to Justice Way leaves out the court many of them actually need.
What differs from the rest of Indiana
Outside Marion County, the court picture changes. St. Joseph County has a standalone Probate Court, and Allen County runs probate through a magistrate in its Superior Court Civil Division. A firm serving clients beyond Indianapolis needs each county page to name its own court, not a Marion County page with the name swapped.
What we build for Indianapolis firms
- Practice-area pages that name the Marion County court and division that hears each matter
- Small claims and landlord pages that point readers to the right township court
- Answer posts for the questions Indianapolis clients ask before they call
The family law guide covers the pages divorce and custody clients need, and the personal injury guide covers results language under Rule 7.1. In a crowded market, read why AI names competing firms instead of yours.
Common questions
Where are the main Marion County courts?
The Indiana courts' directory lists the Clerk, Circuit Court, and Superior Court civil, criminal, and family law divisions at 675 Justice Way, Indianapolis, IN 46203. Check the court's own pages before publishing, since details can change.
Does an Indianapolis firm need township pages?
Usually not for most practices, since the main courts share one address. Small claims is the exception: if you handle those matters, a page that names the township courts gives readers and assistants the right answer.
